Burberry
Thomas Burberry invented gabardine to keep soldiers dry; the world adopted it via the iconic Burberry trench coat — style statement with utility. Burberry Heritage Trench Coats are still made in Yorkshire, hand-finished by specialist tailors, and continue to be named for the London neighborhoods that gave each silhouette its character. Burberry has gone beyond its trench coat becoming a fashion and accessories brand for women and men.

Anglepoise
The Anglepoise task lamp moves like nothing else on a desk — a single touch sets the angle, and a spring-balanced arm holds it there, no clamps, no screws, no fighting the mechanism. George Carwardine built that mechanism in 1932, drawing on his work as a vehicle suspension engineer, and the lamp that resulted has barely changed since. From the company’s home in Denmead, England that same design now lights design studios, museums, and homes worldwide — the kind of design that earns trust by working reliably long after its arrival.

Case Furniture
Founded in London in 2006, Case built its name on a simple idea: bring serious design talent to bear on everyday furniture. The roster reads like a who’s-who of contemporary design — Matthew Hilton, Shin Azumi, David Irwin, Marina Bautier, Nazanin Kamali — each chosen, in Director Paul Newman’s words, for both their work and their passion for it. The result is well designed furniture that works.

Oliver James Lilos

In the south of France, there’s a house with stone walls, blue shutters, and an ancient olive tree that has grown into its own unique shape. At the heart of this idyllic scene lies a pool, a central feature that draws people together. Grandparents and grandchildren relax, joyous cannonballs off the garden wall into the pool. This house has witnessed decades of people returning year after year, creating a tapestry of summer memories. Oliver James Lilos noticed that the inflatable float, a seemingly ordinary object, was one of the most-used yet least-considered items enjoyed and relied upon during the summer season. Lilos embarked on a mission to create a float that would meet and exceed these demands. A meticulously crafted pool float properly made and durable in confident colors — an instantly photogenic pool float was born.

Graff

McQueen
Lee Alexander McQueen apprenticed and trained for years on Savile Row before founding his own house, and that tailoring discipline never left his work — he kept the precision, the structure, the technical rigor while removing the rigidity in service of his creative vision. Cut and proportion became tools for individuality rather than convention, used to unsettle as much as to flatter. Nature, British heritage, and the darker corners of contemporary culture all show up in the work. His fashion shows were theatrical, often unsettling, designed to be felt and remembered rather than just watched.

Orlebar Brown
Orlebar Brown built its name on a single idea: swim shorts could be tailored, not just functional — shorts you can swim in. That same instinct grew beyond swim shorts to polo shirts, shirts, trousers, knitwear, outerwear, footwear — all carrying the same crisp, considered fit.

Fortnum & Mason

The First 318 Years
Like all great exercises in creation, Fortnum & Mason began with light. The insistence of Queen Anne’s household on fresh candles every night spelled a legitimate perk for an enterprising footman: spare palace wax to sell quietly outside the palace. By 1707, William Fortnum’s enlightened sideline had melted down into enough to leave royal service and start a business with his landlord Hugh Mason. The rest, as they say, is grocery.

Bennett Winch

Every Bennett Winch piece is handmade in England, built for the minimalist who’d rather own five exceptional things than fifty forgettable ones. Luggage and accessories engineered for actual use, not display. Carry yourself well.
DUKE + DEXTER
Since 2015, Duke + Dexter has grown from its London roots into a global community of athletes, musicians, artists, photographers, and others who’d rather go against the grain than follow it.

ERCOL

Lucian R. Ercolani arrived in England from Italy and founded, in 1920, what would become one of the most distinctly English furniture makers of the century — built in High Wycombe, the historic heart of the country’s furniture trade. His standard was simple: furniture had to be honest, nothing decorative standing in for substance. More than a century later, that standard is still practiced by his own family — his great-grandson, Henry Tadros, runs the company his great-grandfather founded. Quality can’t, won’t and shouldn’t be rushed. The timber ERCOL uses in their furniture takes decades, even centuries, to grow and mature. No surprise, then, that it takes years to perfect the skills that make their products unique, and their craftspeople the best in the business. They have many long-serving people on their team, including those who’ve been with them their entire working lives.
Paul Smith
Paul Smith is Britain’s leading independent design company championing positivity, curiosity and creativity. These qualities underpin every design, whether it’s a shirt, a shop or a special collaboration. Paul Smith products are crafted with fifty years of design know how. This experience informs everything they make, from refined yet relaxed tailoring for men and women through to casual sneakers, formal shoes and Paul Smith Junior pieces for their youngest customers.

Tom Dixon
Tom Dixon, a maverick designer, didn’t follow a traditional design education. Instead, he taught himself by welding scrap metal into furniture. This unconventional approach caught the attention of Cappellini, where he designed the now-iconic ’S’ Chair. In the late 1990s, Dixon joined Habitat as Creative Director, and his recognition continued to grow. He received an OBE in 2001 from Queen Elizabeth II for his contributions to British design, solidifying his global presence. Today, his studios are located in London and Shanghai, spanning multiple design disciplines, including lighting, furniture, and interior design. Notable projects include transforming a Virgin Voyages ship, reimagining a Champs-Élysées brasserie. Dixon’s welded-salvage instinct remains evident in his work, as he continues to buck traditional design rules.

Turnbull & Asser

Founded in 1885, Turnbull & Asser is the definitive British shirtmaker. Every shirt is made in English workrooms, where exemplary craftsmanship has been foundational since their founding. King Charles III recognized that standard with the brand’s first Royal Warrant in 1980. Ready-to-wear, made-to-measure, or bespoke: the craftsmanship doesn’t change.
Jo Malone
Jo Malone London is a British lifestyle brand known for its unique fragrance portfolio and luxury products for the bath, body and home. Rewriting the rules of perfumery by mixing unexpected combinations of ingredients.
