The forthcoming Fine Jewels sale June 5th at Sotheby’s London includes an enticing array of pieces, with a strong emphasis on jewels from the ‘Jazz Age’, including jewels by renowned jewelers Cartier, Van Cleef & Arpels, and Boucheron.
One very special piece on offer is an 18th-century ‘Sacred Heart’ brooch, formerly from the collection of jewelry historian Dame Joan Evans and is currently owned by Vince Gerardis, Executive Producer on ‘Game of Thrones’, due to its similar iconography to the GOT flaming heart motif.
The sale also presents a unique suite by the seminal 1960s designer Charles de Temple, which includes a tiara in his signature style, believed to be the only one made. Also from Charles de Temple is the iconic ‘All the Time in the World’ ring, one of only two made for James Bond’s fateful wedding in the 1969 film ‘Her Majesty’s Secret Service’.
With impressive period jewelry from the collections of the Earl of Mar and Kellie, Annie, Viscountess Cowdray, Charlie Chaplin, and Mrs. Evelyn St George, who conducted a very open affair with the artist William Orpen in the 1900s. Sotheby’s London Fine Jewels sale has something special to suit every taste and style. The sale represents an opportunity to add special jewelry to your collection, or someone else’s. Enjoy previewing these fine jewels. Happy bidding.
